As the summer heat intensifies across Pakistan, there’s one group of people we often overlook — the men and women standing guard outside our homes, offices, malls, and institutions. They stand still under the scorching sun or remain alert in cramped booths with no air conditioning. Yet, what adds to their suffering is something as simple — and fixable — as what they wear.

Most security guards and outdoor workers are forced to wear polyester uniforms, a synthetic fabric that traps heat, causes excessive sweating, and leads to skin rashes, dehydration, and fatigue. Polyester may be cheap, but it comes at a heavy cost — the comfort, dignity, and health of the people who protect us.

Why Cotton Uniforms Matter

Cotton is a natural, breathable fabric. It allows air to circulate, helps keep the body cool, and absorbs sweat without causing skin irritation. In a country like Pakistan, where temperatures easily cross 40°C in many cities, cotton is not a luxury — it’s a necessity.

Imagine standing in the sun for 8–12 hours a day in a uniform that doesn’t breathe. That is the everyday reality for our guards. Now imagine how simple it would be to change that — just switch to cotton uniforms.

A Call to Action

If you’re an employer, manager, or business owner, look around your office or building. Are your guards or maintenance staff sweating in synthetic fabric while you sit in air-conditioned comfort?

Take the first step.
✅ Be the first drop of rain.
✅ Demand cotton uniforms for your staff.

This isn’t just about fabric — it’s about basic human dignity.
