The long-awaited Etihad Rail passenger service is gearing up for its debut next year – and excitement is building fast.
Designed to connect all seven emirates, this high-speed train will make traveling between cities like Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and Fujairah incredibly convenient.
Although the full freight network is already in operation, we’re still counting down the months until passengers can hop aboard. But the future is rolling in fast — literally.
Recently, one lucky rider got a sneak peek onboard, giving us our first real taste of what this futuristic rail experience will be like — and it’s more than just impressive.
The exclusive journey showcased what passengers can expect when traveling from Abu Dhabi to Fujairah via Dubai. The video preview has already exceeded expectations.

Though the public hasn’t been allowed on board yet, the test ride was part of the UAE’s leadership program, specifically its fifth module. And by all accounts, it was a five-star experience.
Sarah Adel Luqman, who had the privilege of taking the ride, called it “seamless comfort, world-class service, and breathtaking views,” saying it was among the top highlights of her year.

She also commended the Etihad Rail team’s professionalism and expressed gratitude to the UAE’s visionary leadership for advancing infrastructure development at this level.

What’s the Latest on Etihad Rail?
While public access is still pending, passenger routes are getting closer to launch.
The complete network will span 11 cities, stretching from Al Sila in the west to Fujairah in the east. Major stops include Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, and Al Ruwais.
- Stations? Four are currently under construction and officially confirmed.
- Ticket pricing? Still under wraps, but it’s expected that RTA’s Nol card will be one of the accepted payment methods.
- Train interiors? Expect luxurious seating, USB charging ports, entertainment systems, and even Orient Express-style opulence, courtesy of a collaboration with Italian design firm Arsenale.
