Love Guru, a Pakistani romantic comedy starring Mahira Khan and Humayun Saeed, made cinematic history this week by becoming the first Pakistani film to have its trailer screened on the iconic digital billboards of New York’s Times Square.

The trailer premiere drew a crowd of fans, bystanders, and members of the South Asian diaspora, all gathered to catch a glimpse of the stars as they personally launched the preview.

A short ceremony accompanied the unveiling, where both Humayun Saeed and Mahira Khan posed for photos, interacted with admirers, and shared behind-the-scenes moments live on social media.

Clips of the duo dancing to the track Aa Tenu Mauj Karawan during promotional stops across U.S. cities have since gone viral, fueling excitement ahead of the film’s international release.

Directed by Nadeem Baig and written by Wasay Chaudhry, Love Guru follows the journey of a charming man who wins hearts easily — until he’s faced with an unexpected challenge: a life-altering responsibility from his love interest’s father, portrayed by veteran actor Javed Sheikh.

The film is slated for a global release this Eidul Azha, hitting cinemas in Pakistan, the U.S., and several other countries.
