KARACHI: In a significant step towards strengthening Pakistan’s digital infrastructure, Zong has officially launched its locally-hosted cloud platform, integrated with advanced AI capabilities. This move is set to accelerate the growth of the local cloud ecosystem and support the country’s digital transformation journey.

The new platform delivers enterprise-grade performance with enhanced security and low-latency functionality, making it a powerful solution for meeting diverse enterprise cloud requirements. Branded as Z SAIS, the native cloud platform offers over 40 solutions spanning more than seven key domains.

Strategically hosted at data centres in Islamabad and Lahore, the platform ensures fast and reliable access to services, all accessible via a streamlined and unified interface. Among the wide range of services provided are Kubernetes, Firewalls, Web Application Firewalls (WAF), Disaster Recovery, Backup Services, and Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI).

Furthermore, the platform includes strong built-in tools for Compute, Storage, Network & Security and Business Continuity to meet the changing demands of today’s businesses.

Farooq Raza Khan, who leads Zong’s business, believes that Pakistan is about to experience a “cloud revolution” in the next decade. He pointed out that both local and international companies are investing in cloud technologies, and Zong is determined to guide this change by improving its digital services.

This state-of-the-art cloud solution is expected to empower businesses to unlock new levels of efficiency and innovation, positioning cloud infrastructure as a critical driver of Pakistan’s future digital economy.

Earlier this year, Zong also made headlines by launching Pakistan’s first Large Language Model (LLM) specifically tailored for the telecom sector, capable of offering customer support and personalized service recommendations.

Zong hopes that by introducing this cloud platform, it can make the country’s digital infrastructure more secure and encourage local IT development by using fewer foreign services. It is in line with the national plan to strengthen data sovereignty, boost cybersecurity and encourage local technology development. Zong is providing cloud services that are scalable, secure and affordable for Pakistani businesses, helping the digital economy now and preparing for new developments in telecom, finance, education and healthcare.
