ABU DHABI – Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif held an official meeting with the President of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Abu Dhabi, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, on Thursday. During the meeting, both leaders reaffirmed their nations’ strong commitment to peace, stability, and mutual cooperation in the region.

The discussions highlighted the longstanding and brotherly relationship between Pakistan and the UAE, based on mutual trust, shared values, and a rich history of cooperation. The two sides covered a wide range of bilateral, regional, and global matters of mutual interest and agreed to strengthen collaboration in crucial areas such as trade and investment.

Prime Minister Shehbaz expressed sincere appreciation for the UAE’s role in easing tensions between Pakistan and India. He commended the Emirates’ ongoing efforts to promote dialogue and peace across the region. Both leaders acknowledged the positive trajectory of their bilateral relations and expressed satisfaction with the continued high-level engagements.

They pledged to maintain strong coordination to achieve shared objectives in regional development and prosperity. The Prime Minister reiterated his invitation to Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed to visit Pakistan, emphasizing the importance of further strengthening ties.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar, Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal General Syed Asim Munir, Federal Minister for Interior Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi, Federal Minister for Information Ataullah Tarar, and Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Syed Tariq Fatemi.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Prime Minister Shehbaz described his meeting with Sheikh Mohamed as “delightful.” He thanked the UAE for its constructive role in defusing regional tensions and reaffirmed their joint vision for lasting peace and prosperity. He expressed enthusiasm for welcoming the UAE President to Pakistan in the near future.

Digital Transformation and Global Tech Presence

On the same day, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif highlighted Pakistan’s firm commitment to digital transformation, innovation, and youth empowerment during London Tech Week 2025. He praised the country’s growing digital footprint and emphasized its readiness to engage with global tech leaders.

The Prime Minister congratulated the Ministry of IT, PSEB, TDAP, and Pakistani entrepreneurs for showcasing Pakistan’s tech potential. He asserted that Pakistan’s future in technology looks promising, driven by innovation and the energy of its youth.
