Revolutionary China 6G electronic warfare system

China 6G electronic warfare weapon. Chinese scientists have introduced a cutting-edge electronic warfare system based on 6G technology, engineered specifically to jam the radar and communication systems of U.S. F-35 stealth fighter jets.

This pioneering defense technology, developed under the leadership of Professor Deng Lei at Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST), applies next-gen signal processing to achieve capabilities far beyond current radar countermeasures.

Reports from InterestingEngineering.com on June 17 confirm that China has firmly positioned itself as a global leader in 6G innovation, boasting the largest number of 6G-related patents according to the South China Morning Post (SCMP).

Designed to Target Advanced Radar of U.S. Stealth Fighters

The 6G-based system is built to disrupt complex radar types such as the Northrop Grumman AN/APG-85, used in the F-35 aircraft. This radar operates in the high-frequency X-band spectrum—up to 12 GHz—making it extremely difficult to counter using conventional techniques.

However, China’s new technology leverages 6G capabilities to produce more than 3,600 deceptive signals, effectively creating false targets that overwhelm enemy radar and disorient pilots.

Multifunctional System Combines Jamming and Data Communication

In addition to its jamming functionality, the new system also serves as a high-speed battlefield communication node. It can simultaneously transmit and receive data over the same frequency band—a feature known as full-duplex communication—a world-first for a system of this kind.

It also acts as a central hub for military communications, capable of linking more than 300 platforms via ultra-fast fiber-optic networks. This enables real-time information sharing across multiple systems, enhancing situational awareness and operational coordination.

Compact Design Offers Strategic Versatility

Engineers have created the system with a compact, multifunctional layout, enabling its deployment as a ground-based jammer, radar disruptor, and secure communications relay. This all-in-one design makes the system highly adaptable for modern electronic warfare environments.

In a scientific paper published in the Chinese journal Acta Optica Sinica, researchers noted that 6G technology is now driving the unification of communication systems, radar sensing, and electronic warfare.

They emphasized that this breakthrough offers superior performance in jamming, signal retention, and high-speed transmission, all within one integrated solution.

A Turning Point in Future Warfare

China’s achievement marks a transformative shift in defense technology. Its 6G electronic warfare weapon not only challenges the supremacy of Western stealth aircraft but also highlights the evolving nature of global military strategy.

With this advancement, China has taken a commanding step into the future of electronic warfareredefining what’s possible in the age of next-generation military systems.
