Pakistan has announced its squad for the upcoming T20 International series against Bangladesh, confirmed by both cricket boards on May 20.

This decision came after successful high-level discussions between Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi and Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) Chairman Nazmul Abedin along with President Faruque Ahmed.

The Bangladesh team will tour Pakistan to play all three matches at Lahore’s historic Gaddafi Stadium, with the full schedule set to be released soon.

PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi expressed appreciation to the BCB leadership, stating, “We thank the BCB leadership for their trust and cooperation. This series is a positive step toward strengthening cricket ties between our countries.”

Prior to the series, Pakistan’s selection committee announced a 16-player squad, chosen based on outstanding performances during the ongoing HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL), which concludes on May 25. This series will also be the first international challenge for Pakistan’s newly appointed head coach, Mike Hesson.

Salman Ali Agha remains captain, with Shadab Khan as vice-captain, leading a well-balanced squad that includes seasoned players alongside emerging talents.

The 16-man Pakistan squad for the Bangladesh T20I series is:

Salman Ali Agha (captain), Abrar Ahmed, Faheem Ashraf, Fakhar Zaman, Haris Rauf, Hasan Ali, Hassan Nawaz, Hussain Talat, Khushdil Shah, Mohammad Haris (wicket-keeper), Mohammad Wasim Jr, Muhammad Irfan Khan, Naseem Shah, Sahibzada Farhan (wicket-keeper), Saim Ayub, Shadab Khan (vice-captain).

Notably, veterans Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan are absent from the T20I squad. Babar currently ranks 8th among T20I batsmen, while Rizwan is ranked 12th.
