PESHAWAR – The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has declared the summer vacation schedule for 2025, with holidays starting on June 15.
According to an official notification from the education department, primary schools in warm areas will be closed from June 1 until August 31.
In warm regions, high and higher secondary schools will observe holidays from June 15 to August 31, while in colder areas, schools will shut from July 1 to July 31.
These vacations will apply to all public and private schools, the department confirmed.
Balochistan: Summer vacations began earlier in the warm parts of Balochistan from May 17, ending on July 31, with schools reopening on August 1 (Friday).
Punjab: The Punjab government has also announced its summer holiday schedule, starting from June 1 and lasting until August 14, 2025. Authorities stated that if temperatures spike unexpectedly, holidays could start a week earlier to safeguard students, teachers, and staff from extreme heat.
Sindh: Both public and private schools in Sindh will observe summer vacations from June 1 to July 31. Officials denied rumors about early holidays due to the heat.
Experts continue to warn about the growing effects of global warming. Pakistan is among the most vulnerable countries to climate change, facing shifting weather patterns and more frequent natural disasters. This has prompted the education and health departments to take precautionary measures to protect students and staff.
