LAHORE: Türkiye’s Ambassador to Pakistan, Dr. Irfan Neziroglu, visited the national headquarters of Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan in Lahore, where he was warmly welcomed by the foundation’s leadership. Among those present to receive him were President Dr. Hafeez ur Rehman, Secretary General Syed Waqas Jafri, Vice Presidents Muhammad Abdus Shakoor, Syed Ihsanullah Waqas, Dr. Mushtaq Mangat, and other top officials.

Dr. Neziroglu toured the Alkhidmat Complex and received an in-depth briefing on the organisation’s wide-ranging humanitarian programs both in Pakistan and globally. These efforts include disaster relief, volunteer mobilization, community development, and international aid missions.

During the visit, Dr. Hafeez ur Rehman highlighted the longstanding solidarity between Pakistan and Türkiye, expressing pride in collaborative efforts with Turkish NGOs. “The brotherhood between our nations has always shone in difficult times,” he said, emphasizing shared values in humanitarian service.

Ambassador Neziroglu commended the impactful work of Alkhidmat Foundation, calling its services exemplary and its volunteer network inspiring. He stressed the deep cultural and emotional ties between the two nations, remarking, “Our flags may differ in colour, but our hearts beat as one.” He also showed keen interest in expanding cooperation, especially in youth engagement and joint service projects.

Expressing his gratitude, the Ambassador acknowledged Alkhidmat’s rapid response during the recent earthquake in Türkiye, thanking the volunteers for their dedication and timely assistance. As a gesture of solidarity, Dr. Neziroglu officially registered as an Alkhidmat volunteer, pledging his continued support for future initiatives.

The visit concluded with the presentation of traditional Pakistani gifts including a shawl, cap, an honorary shield, and a model of Minar-e-Pakistan, symbolizing friendship and respect between the two nations.

This visit further strengthens the Pak-Türkiye humanitarian partnership, opening new avenues for collaborative impact and volunteer-driven development efforts.
