Defence Minister Rajnath Singh recently engaged in productive bilateral discussions with his Chinese counterpart, Admiral Don Jun, during the SCO Defence Ministers’ Meeting in Qingdao, China. The dialogue aimed to foster mutual understanding and strengthen the foundation of India-China relations.

Singh expressed his pleasure over the resumption of the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra, which had been suspended for nearly six years.
“Held talks with Admiral Don Jun, the Defence Minister of China, on the sidelines of the SCO Defence Ministers’ Meeting. We had a constructive and forward-looking exchange of views on bilateral relations. Expressed my happiness on restarting the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra after six years.”

The meeting followed a separate high-level dialogue between India’s National Security Advisor Ajit Doval and Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi in Beijing on June 23. Their discussions focused on promoting bilateral ties and addressing regional and international issues of mutual interest.
During the talks, NSA Doval stressed the importance of combating terrorism in all forms and fostering people-to-people ties. This engagement further underscored India’s commitment to enhancing cooperation with China for regional stability.
