LAHORE (Dunya News) – On Saturday, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif held an important meeting with PML-N President Nawaz Sharif in Raiwind, where they discussed significant matters related to politics and foreign affairs.
During the meeting, PM Shehbaz briefed Nawaz Sharif on the progress of Operation Bunyan-un-Marsoos, national security updates, and the current political landscape to ensure continued national unity. He also shared details of his recent engagements with foreign leaders and delegations. Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz was also in attendance.

Shehbaz Sharif commended the bravery and unity of Pakistan’s armed forces and its citizens, describing their resilience as a remarkable chapter in the country’s military history. He highlighted how the challenges were faced with an effective and intelligent strategy.
The prime minister criticized India for refusing to conduct a proper investigation into the Pahalgam incident, stating that while Indian officials made allegations, they avoided accountability. He added that the swift and courageous actions of Pakistani soldiers during the incident created a historic moment that will be remembered by both allies and adversaries.
He emphasized that the Pakistani military and its people raised the national flag with pride by overcoming the enemy, which has now earned Pakistan global respect for its strength and unity. He reiterated that the entire nation stood behind its military during the conflict.

PM Shehbaz also updated Nawaz on the economic front, revealing that despite India’s attempts to interfere, the IMF released a $1 billion loan tranche to Pakistan. The IMF had assessed Pakistan’s economic performance and recommended the disbursement.
He assured that Pakistan’s economy is moving in the right direction and that the government is working closely with the IMF to finalize the upcoming budget. The targets for the 2025-26 fiscal year will be determined through joint consultation.
In conclusion, Nawaz Sharif instructed PM Shehbaz to take decisive steps to ease the burden on the public and appreciated that Pakistan is making progress in various sectors.
