Invitation to Promote Football Among Schoolchildren

The Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) has been notified by FIFA that they have been invited to join FIFA’s global Football for Schools (F4S) Programme. This programme aims to increase children’s participation in football within schools around the world. FIFA sent an invite to the PFF through the President Syed Mohsen Gilani, as this cycle of the programme is coming to a close. FIFA has asked all association members to confirm their participation by December 31st, 2025.

FIFA’s Support for Pakistan

If Pakistand accepts, FIFA will provide robust support to ensure the programme is launched to optimum effect. FIFA plans to distribute 164,940 footballs, based on the number of children aged 4 to 14 in schools across the country. FIFA will also grant a one-time cash donation of USD 50,000 to help ensure the smooth running of the programme.

Access to Digital Tools and Training

FIFA is also providing participants a smartphone-compatible digital app that includes a manual to assist physical education teachers and coordinators in running football lessons. FIFA will assign experts to run teacher training sessions, either online or in person, depending on local availability. We want to ensure that teachers feel equipped to run the programme independently.

Deadline and Importance of Response

Elkhan Mammadov, FIFA’s Chief Member Association Officer, highlighted the need for timely communication from PFF, urging the federation to be one of the first federations to confirm participation of the Football for Schools programme by 31 December 2025. If Pakistan will not participate, FIFA has requested official communication confirming this by the same date, so FIFA can allocate and use resources to other appropriate associations.

Building Grassroots Football and Life Skills

The Football For Schools programme is one part of FIFA’s overall programme to integrate football into school curricula globally. The programme looks to motivate physical activity while fostering basic life skills, including children working in teams, discipline, and fair play. For Pakistan this represents a unique opportunity to develop grassroots football, develop young players, and encourage healthy active lifestyles for school children.

Conclusion: A Chance to Grow Football in Pakistan

All in all, FIFA’s invitation is a fantastic opportunity for the PFF to join a worldwide initiative that promotes football for kids to participate, enjoy, and improve all over the country. With FIFA’s back up in resources, funding and training, the program can facilitate the growth of football culture and education at the grassroots level all over Pakistan.
