Turkish Airlines passenger growth 2025 has taken off, as the airline carried 34 million travelers between January and May. The flag carrier continues to expand its international presence with high passenger volume, efficient operations, and excellent load factors.

Strong Start for Turkish Airlines Passenger Growth 2025

Passenger traffic rose 3.7 percent compared to last year. The average occupancy rate reached 81.2 percent, showing strong consumer confidence.

International Transfer Traffic Drives Growth

International transfer passengers rose by 8.7%, to 13.6 million during the first five months of the year. 12.5 million were recorded during the same five-month period a year before. International occupancy was 81% and domestic routes more robust at 83.5%.

Seat Capacity and Cargo Boost Turkish Airlines Passenger Growth 2025

Available Seat Kilometers (ASK) rose 5.2 percent from 100 billion in 2024 to 105.2 billion.
Cargo and mail also grew by 2.7%, increasing from 814,600 to 836,200 tons.

May Delivers 7.6 Million Flyers Alone

In the month of May, Turkish Airlines carried 7.6 million passengers with an average occupancy ratio of 81.1%. ASKs grew 6% from 21.3 billion in 2024 to 22.6 billion in 2025.
Domestic flights delivered an impressive occupancy rate of 86%.
International transfer traffic rose 11.2% to 2.8 million.
Cargo and mail carried increased by 5.1% to 183,400 tons.

Turkish Airlines Positions Itself as a Global Leader

As of the end of May, the airline operated a total of 484 aircraft in its fleet. The strong Turkish Airlines passenger growth 2025 illustrates that its strategic expansion is proving effective.
With Türkiye’s strategic location and emerging air demand, Turkish Airlines will be in position to outperform itself in the months ahead.

Turkish Airlines Expands Global Presence

The Turkish airline had a total fleet of 484 aircraft at the end of May. The airline is continuing to expand its international markets and its strategic growth is a direct reflection of the demand and the effective operational efficiencies it achieves. The expansion of passenger and cargo volumes indicates the airline has a viable competitive position in the market. The strong ASK and passenger load factors signify enhanced consumer trust in the airline. A view of the industry experts share to the airline’s status as a leading carrier in Europe, Asia and the Middle East, and with a global aviation hub in Türkiye, Turkish Airlines still has major opportunities for growth in the coming months.
