Pakistan has introduced a collision-resilient drone, marking a major breakthrough in local aerospace technology. Developed by Mohammad Obaid Raza, this innovation allows drones to continue flying even after crashing into obstacles. The design ensures successful missions in environments where other drones typically fail.

First of Its Kind by Ace Aeronautics

This collision-resilient drone is built by Ace Aeronautics, a company founded by Raza. It is specifically engineered for difficult spaces such as mines, tunnels, fire-damaged buildings, and industrial pipelines. These areas are dangerous, tight, and often GPS-denied.

What makes this drone unique is its shock-absorbing build. Unlike ordinary drones, it does not crash and fail. Instead, it absorbs the hit, rebalances, and continues flying.

Works Without GPS

Another game-changing feature is its SLAM technology https://closeup.pk/2025/06/15/solar-panel-tax-in-pakistan-2025/(Simultaneous Localization and Mapping). This allows the drone to create 3D maps of its surroundings and navigate even when GPS is unavailable. As a result, it becomes highly effective in remote and underground locations.

Recognized Globally

This drone has received several awards. Raza won the P@SHA Gold Award in Pakistan and represented the country at the Asia Pacific ICT Alliance Awards in Hong Kong. There, the drone stood out among innovations from 16 countries.

Moreover, the Qatari government invited him to explore industrial applications for oil and gas inspections.

A Vision for the Future

Raza believes this drone shows how Pakistani engineers can lead globally. “We are second to none,” he stated. His long-term vision includes making Pakistan a hub for robotics and aerospace innovation.

With this collision-resilient drone, Pakistan is proving its capability in high-tech fields. From saving lives in disasters to ensuring safety in industrial inspections, this innovation can transform aerial operations.
