Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has begun a special mission to return Pakistani people stranded in Iran following the recent Israel-Iran confrontation. According to ARY News, PIA started the procedure with a special flight from Peshawar to Ashgabat, Turkmenistan, on Tuesday evening.

The Pakistani Embassy facilitated the safe transfer of approximately 150 Pakistanis from Mashhad, Iran, to Ashgabat, Turkmenistan. These people were trapped after Iran blocked its airspace, causing airline disruptions. PIA is presently bringing them back to Pakistan on a special flight from Ashgabat.

Following government directives, PIA has announced additional special flights in the coming days. These flights will assure the safe and timely return of all remaining citizens.

Government Supports Iran in the War

Recently, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met with Iranian Ambassador Reza Amiri Moghadam at the Pakistan International Maritime Expo and Conference. The Prime Minister expressed deep condolences to the families of innocent citizens slain in Iran by Israeli attacks.

Prime Minister Shehbaz confirmed Pakistan’s unwavering support for Iran. He also discussed his recent conversation with Iranian President Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian. He stated unequivocally that Pakistan would maintain its position on the UN Security Council. The country condemned Israel’s conduct as a violation of the UN Charter and international law.

Pakistan has remained in solidarity with Iran, which is an indication of its regional peace and humanitarian responsibility.
