The Government of India has issued official notices to leading e-commerce platforms such as Amazon, Flipkart, Etsy, and Ubuy India, ordering an immediate stop to the sale of Pakistani flags and Pakistan-related patriotic merchandise. The action comes in response to several public complaints. Indian Union Minister confirmed via a post on X (formerly Twitter) that all listed platforms were directed to remove such listings from their websites.

All involved companies were instructed to delete related images and videos immediately, as their availability was cited as a violation of Indian laws. The minister further stressed the importance of strict adherence to national regulations by all e-commerce platforms operating in India.
As reported by The Times of India, these items remained available online even after rising India-Pakistan tensions following a recent border conflict. Trade unions flagged the issue, describing it as a serious concern for national security and public unity.
The Indian government labeled the online sale of Pakistani flags and similar items as offensive to public sentiment and a possible threat to the nation’s safety. Authorities have now mandated that all such listings be removed immediately.
This move is part of India’s larger effort to restrict Pakistani content, which includes bans on Pakistani films, TV shows, and the blocking of social media profiles of Pakistani media figures and celebrities. The crackdown follows military skirmishes between the two countries on May 6–7, which resulted in a ceasefire on May 10, brokered by the United States.
