Punjabi superstar Diljit Dosanjh has launched the trailer for his upcoming movie Sardaar Ji 3. The film features Pakistani actress Hania Aamir in a leading role, creating major buzz across social media platforms.

The film is set to release internationally on June 27. Fans across borders are excited, especially about the chemistry between the lead stars. However, the announcement has stirred controversy in India’s film industry.

Indian Film Industry Reacts Strongly

The Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) expressed its disapproval. They condemned Diljit’s decision to cast a Pakistani actress, calling it inappropriate due to the current political climate.

Tensions between India and Pakistan have already halted several entertainment projects in the past. This casting choice, many believe, challenges industry norms amid fragile diplomatic ties.

Past Incidents of Cross-Border Controversy

This is not the first time such casting has sparked debate. After the Pahalgam attack in April, Indian authorities blocked the release of Abir Gulaal, a Bollywood movie starring Fawad Khan.

Similar situations unfolded after the 2016 Uri and 2019 Pulwama attacks. Major films like Ae Dil Hai Mushkil and Raees faced heavy criticism and boycotts for casting Pakistani actors.

Public Reactions Vary Widely

Despite criticism from film unions, fans continue to support Diljit. Many praised him for working with Hania Aamir and focusing on talent over politics. Social media platforms flooded with positive comments about the trailer’s energy and visuals.

Diljit has not responded to the backlash yet. However, his silence hasn’t stopped the film’s momentum online.

Diplomatic Tensions and Artistic Collaboration

The Indian government remains cautious about cross-border artistic ties. Officials emphasized the sensitivity of involving Pakistani talent in Indian films, especially during times of regional unrest.

Still, Sardaar Ji 3 remains on track for its international release. The makers have not announced any change in the schedule or cast.

What Lies Ahead?

With its premiere only days away, Sardaar Ji 3 could redefine how audiences and the industry view cross-border collaboration. The film’s success—or rejection—may set a new standard for future partnerships.
