SWAT – Swat River Flash Floods Heavy rains on Friday caused flash flooding in Swat district that resulted in at least seven people dead and 16 missing. Rescue 1122 commenced for assistance in saving lives and helping individuals who were stranded in all affected areas.

Rescue Operations Continue Across Swat
Spokesperson Bilal Faizi from Rescue 1122 confirmed that teams are working tirelessly to locate missing people. The floods hit several remote locations, forcing dozens into dangerous situations.
In Ingaroderai, rescue workers recovered three victims. In Ghalegy, where seven people were initially reported missing, teams found another body. Crews remain deployed in both zones.
A serious incident occurred at the Bypass Relax Hotel, where over 10 people likely drowned. Search operations remain active on-site.

Meanwhile, personnel from Rescue Station 33 successfully saved more than 22 people trapped in Imam Dhirai. At the same time, Rescue Stations 44 and 55 are jointly working in Manyar, where seven people remain stranded.
Additionally, teams in Panjigram village responded to one person trapped by rising waters. In Bara Bamakhela, they safely evacuated between 20 and 30 individuals.
Over 120 Emergency Responders Mobilized
Rescue 1122 sent over 120 personnel to handle the crisis. Civil Defence and local services are also collaborating to assist rescue efforts.
“All teams are in action across the flood-hit areas,” Faizi emphasized, “and we’re doing everything possible to protect lives.”
Flood Warnings Issued in Surrounding Area
Charsadda Deputy Commissioner Qaiser Khan declared a flood emergency after the water discharge in the Swat River at Khwazakhela rose to 77,782 cusecs, indicating a very high flood.
Over mosque loudspeakers, authorities issued an immediate evacuation warning to residents in low-lying areas. At Munda Headworks, where the flow is steady, officials are still keeping an eye on the water levels.
PDMA Issues Precautionary Measures Across KP
The KP Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) released alerts to district administrations in Peshawar, Charsadda, and Nowshera. Officials were directed to assess high-risk areas, prepare evacuation shelters, and ensure the availability of food, medicine, and basic supplies.
In addition, PDMA advised farmers and herders to relocate livestock from riverbanks. The general public should avoid unnecessary movement in flood-prone areas and stay informed through official channels.
