Imran Abbas Sardaar Ji 3 Well-known Pakistani actor Imran Abbas, who boasts over 8.9 million followers on Instagram, recently expressed his dissatisfaction regarding the release of films during Muharram, a month held in high esteem in Islam. Recognized for his straightforward character and deep religious convictions, Imran often leverages his platform to advocate for the appreciation of Islamic customs and occasions.

Actor Questions Film Releases During Sacred Month

Imran raised his concerns about the film Sardaar Ji 3, featuring Hania Aamir, which hit cinemas on the 1st or 2nd of Muharram. Other titles like Mission Impossible, Love Guru, and Deemak also saw theatrical releases during this time. Imran expressed frustration over the industry’s growing insensitivity toward religious dates.

Posting on his official Facebook page, he wrote, “I haven’t seen films releasing on the 1st of Muharram in the past. This isn’t about sectarian divisions — Muharram holds importance for all Muslims. I remember when PTV would avoid airing music during these sacred days. Now we’re seeing music and dance content, even on the 9th of Muharram.”

Concerns Over Declining Cultural Sensitivity

Imran pointed out how the meaning of these holy days is fading. He noted that people now treat such occasions as vacation time, often planning family trips rather than observing the spiritual significance. He added, “At this rate, we might see celebrations for the Islamic New Year on 1st Muharram. I urge everyone to honor the dignity of months like Rabi-ul-Awal, Ramadan, and Muharram — this transcends sectarian beliefs.”

Actors Not at Fault, Says Imran

Clarifying his stance, Imran emphasized that the film’s cast should not be blamed. “They are doing their job,” he said. “The responsibility lies with the distributors and producers, who could have postponed the release. A film projected to succeed wouldn’t suffer from a brief delay.”

Public Support Echoes Actor’s Sentiments

Many fans and social media users backed Imran’s statement. One commented, “It’s time we return to respecting our values.” Another added, “Back in the day, even our Sunni brothers respected Muharram deeply. Now it’s turning into just another break.”

People widely appreciated Imran’s bold stance, thanking him for drawing attention to the declining respect for religious observances in media planning.
