Pakistan stands with Türkiye as Izmir wildfires rage on

Top Leadership Expresses Deep Concern

Pakistan Türkiye Wildfires as destructive wildfires continue to rage through Izmir province, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Senator Ishaq Dar, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, expressed deep sorrow and promised Turkey their full support.

Messages of Unity Shared on Social Media

On Tuesday, both leaders took to the social media platform X to share heartfelt messages, expressing solidarity with the Turkish people during this critical time.

PM Shehbaz Extends Condolences to President Erdogan

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif stated, “I am deeply saddened by the fierce wildfires spreading through Izmir province. I offer my sincere condolences to my dear brother, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, and the resilient people of Türkiye in this tough moment.”

He also prayed for swift containment of the fire and urged protection of life and property. Shehbaz emphasized that Pakistan is ready to provide all possible support to Türkiye.

“Pakistan stands shoulder to shoulder with our courageous Turkish brothers and sisters. We are fully prepared to provide any assistance required during this time of crisis,” he added.

FM Ishaq Dar Shares Concern and Assurance

Ishaq Dar, the foreign minister, also voiced concern about the state of affairs, describing the incident as distressing.

“Reports of the wildfire in Izmir, Turkey, which has affected thousands of lives and disrupted flights, deeply disturb me,” he said.

Dar expressed optimism that things would soon be under control. He reaffirmed Pakistan’s pledge to offer any support that is required.

He declared, “Pakistan is prepared to offer any assistance our Turkish brothers and sisters require in this time of need and remains in complete solidarity with them.”

Fires Disrupt Lives and Services in Izmir

The wildfires in Izmir have caused significant damage, disrupting civilian life and halting aviation services. Turkish emergency services are working relentlessly to control the blaze and protect communities.

A Symbol of Strong Pakistan-Türkiye Brotherhood

Pakistan’s swift show of support reflects the enduring bond and strategic friendship between both nations. Historically, Pakistan and Türkiye have extended mutual aid during natural disasters and humanitarian emergencies.

As the crisis in Izmir continues, Pakistan stays closely engaged and ready to provide relief whenever Türkiye calls for assistance.
